Clear CI as the basis of the design process

We worked together with the client to analyse and optimise the CI of this young company. Some of the important features of the reworked CI are the calmer, clearer font and well-defined and consistent use of colours.
The CI is an important basis for design of new products.

The most important element of the CI is the company logo. Reduced use of colour with strong contrasts make the logo more striking.

To give an impression of the updated image, Flink produced a draft of possible changes to the website.

Clear definition of the logo and targeting placing of the graphics underline the high technical quality of the products. The discreet interplay of materials and colours makes the product more exciting.

Absorption spectra

Conventional crystalline solar cells merely absorb a part of the solar spectrum. The trilamination of the Triple Junction Technology expands the absorption spectra considerably. Because of this, electricty isn’t only produced around noon but also in the morning and evening hours and in less ideal weather conditions.

Shadow tolerance

Another advantage of the trilamination is the three-times-higher cell voltage. It means that three times less cells in the series need to be connected to achieve the supply voltage.  This results in a three times larger tolerance of shadow for Triple Junction solar technology products.

Temperature coefficient

Solar cells lose efficiency with increasing module temperatures. This effect is much higher with conventional solar cells than with the Triple Junction technology. A crystalline solar cell loses around one third of its efficiency at an operating temperature of 85 degrees Celsius. The Triple Junction cell registers less than half of that energy loss.

Light-weight, flexible and robust

Compared to the crystalline solar cells, these thin-film solar cells are much more light-weight and robust. Their flexiblity makes them almost impossible to destroy. These features especially become apparent with portable use. Unlike our product, a battery charger with stiff crystalline solar cells can easily break into pieces in your pocket.
