Learning from the global market leader

For more than 40years Gema has been developing and producing systems and devices for industrial powder coating, and has asserted itself as global market leader. With the new generation of hand held devices, the technology of powder coating is replenished with valuable features.
Our designers are introduced to the world of industrial powder coating by Gema specialists and are supplied with important knowledge basics for the demanding project.

GM03 - Hand held pistol

The unique design of the hand held pistol consequently continues CI and the product language of Gema. The clear line guidance and the facet like surface structure create dynamics and incorporate lightness and technical refinery of the product.
High technical (100'000 volts surge, soiling issues ...) and ergonomic demands (light, well balanced hand held device, remote access ...) are in the focus of development.

Interface Super Corona

Fastening and earthing of SuperCorona via the integrated metal interface.

Remote Access

Via the arrow buttons you can adjust program selection and powder release. Fast color switch owed to purge function.

Design process and support to construction

The design development of the hand held device is done in parallel and with inter-dependence with the high technical inner workings. Designers and Engineers define and take over requirements mutually. In an iterative process the object grown from the vision to a mature serial product.

Ideation

Different product visions are developed and discussed with the Gema specialists.
The high technical and ergonomic demands determine the structure of the housing parts decisively and thus limit the design options.

Conception

In the context of the idea phase new solution approaches are generated for the structure of the shell as well as several detail solutions. After internal assessment and editing with our engineers the promising approaches are discussed and elaborated with the Gema Engineers.

Realization

As soon as the product vision stands and the construction is defined, Gema sets the technical package and supplies the CAD volume model.
Based on this volume model, Flink develops the free shape surfaces.

Prototyping

After acceptance of the surface definition, Flink edits the CAD data for handing over to the model construction partner.
Two weeks later the model pistol is finished and the proto type is reviewed together with Gema and further optimizations entered to CAD.

Support

On the basis of the surface data the Gema Engineers assemble the final construction in CAD.
We accompany this process - Gema and Flink realize further optimization steps at this stage jointly.
