Fast and easy installation

A flood comes quickly and without warning.

In order to protect buildings, cultured land and streets the protection squads are dependent on a flexible and efficient means for the exclusion of water masses.

The TURBO systems comply with the high demands and are considered the fastest applicable flood protection systems.

Best solid structure and intuitive handling

The sluice element is the heart of the Biturbo system. Intuitive handling and safe functionality are preconditional for the successful effort in catastrophic situations.

The main functionality is resolved with proven prefabricated construction elements.
For the rescue squad this means familiar interfaces and trained handling procedures, quick installation, safe and intuitive handling.

The main body is made of high quality anodized aluminum-tin bent parts riveted with several bracings to a high solid construction.
Owed to the precise combination of prefabricated construction parts with individually manufactured elements it is possible to keep the development as well as the production efforts as efficient as possible.

Field test

On September 30th of 2011 the flood protection system is introduced to the Swiss fire brigade experts at the alluvial lumber retaining facility in Ettisbühl.
After the installation of the 75 meter long protection wall the municipal plant Ettisbühl open their sluices and thus simulate a major flooding.

The huge brigade hoses are transported on carts to the endangered area.

The hoses are laid out in parallel...

... and connected to each other via the sluice element.

Standard elements guarantee a clear and intuitive handling.

The end pieces are equipped with draining fixtures.

The fire brigade Commander gives the command to the men at the water pumps.

The water is pumped from the nearby creek through the fire brigade hoses...

... into the sluice element.

Via adjustment of the levers the hoses are precisely filled.
That way it is possible to fill the particularly endangered section first and the section which crosses the important through traffic road at last.

The shooting fountain indicates as soon as the working pressure is reached and the filling is completed.
The 75 meter long and ca. 100 tons heavy protective weir is ready for the flood. It took 20 minutes for 5 men to install and fill the elements. For a similar protective weir of sandbags it would take 60 men circa 8 hours.

For 15 minutes the municipal plant Ettisbühl opens their sluices and simulate a heavy flooding.

The peak water mark is reached – THE WEIR RETAINS IT

Inspection by the fire brigade Commander.

After the flood the water is released from the hoses.
The whole installation is de-installed, rolled up and ready for transport within 30 minutes.
