Cleaning air instead of replacing or perfuming it.
Eliminating unpleasant odours in the toilet uses a lot of energy.
- A traditional ventilation system consumes 60 to 100 Watts.
- A window that is left slightly open for a year costs around 200 litres of heating oil.
The invention from Belair Solutions starts from precisely this point. The ventilation integrated to the toilet seat extracts the unpleasant odours with a power consumption of just 2.8 Watts and cleans them using an active carbon filter.
This makes ventilation unnecessary, making it possible to save valuable energy.
Belair Solutions worked together with their engineering partner on the functional concept of the innovative toilet seat. The design was produced using models and tested under real conditions.
As soon as the main technical requirements had been resolved, Flink was brought on board as a design partner. There was a rather tricky task awaiting the designers:
The technology integrated in the product should be made visible and communicated without unsettling users or scaring them off.
The flowing line of the surface makes it more attractive and helps reduce concerns about touching it. The geometric arrangement of the ventilation slits indicates that the product is innovative and reliable.
As well as the shape, the designers also had to find and consider all the other aspects relevant to the user (commissioning, cleaning, filter change etc.).

The product stands out for its distinctive shape. The designers managed to integrate the technology unobtrusively and harmoniously into the product.
The shape of the product embodies the attributes of lightness and freshness, with an understated elegance.
